Our historic building has served many purposes in it’s almost 150 year life span and it was in 2011 it became home to The Fork and Tap Alehouse and Restaurant.

Founded by locals Keith, with his passion for craft beers, Jeannie, with her love of cooking, and their two young children, when they saw the need for a local meeting place to welcome friends, family and visitors alike. Good beer, good wine, good food and a friendly team was a must.

We pride ourselves in making delicious honest food, sourced locally. Our menu offers in-house favourites, kiwi classics and a well thought out blackboard of seasonal dishes. Southland beef, Cardrona lamb, fish from the southern coast, pork from Havoc and greens from Tony up the road — our simple but well executed menu, is sure to satisfy. We truly care about you and your dining experience, our menu caters for many dietary requirements.

We also LOVE New Zealand Craft Beer, and have 19 taps pouring from the micro to the mighty breweries the length and breadth of the country - we always have a local drop on too!
