Would you like your name on a Queenstown Trail bridge?
These plans includes growing the existing Queenstown Trail network and developing brand new trails on Coronet Peak, the western shores of the Wakatipu and beyond. Your generosity will help with the planning and development of new infrastructure such as the building of new bridges, underpasses, retaining walls and hundreds of kms of new trails. Once complete the newly expanded trail network will have a huge positive effect on our community as we aim to achieve the following:
Connect all Queenstown communities to business centres, schools, and the wider recreational network – a trail within 10 minutes of all Queenstown Communities
There will be higher levels of participation in safe and active use of the trail network by locals and visitors
There will be more choice in the recreational trail experience for everyone
We aim to grow trail usage by locals by 5-8%
And increase use by visitors by 6-10%
The Queenstown Trail is currently responsible for 5% of total tourism spend in the region, which equates to $140million per year! With huge room for growth!
