The Queenstown Trails Trust has reached a really important milestone in the development of the Queenstown Trail Expansion Project, and we need your help.
Our resource consent application to link the Tucker Beach Trail to Arrowtown via Arthurs Point is now open for public notification and we’d really like to encourage your submissions.
We are proposing to construct a trail linking the Tucker Beach Trail to Arthurs Point via an 80m Suspension bridge over the Shotover River, traversing the Lower Shotover Gorge and passing through a 100m historic mining tunnel to Big Beach. The Trail then splits, linking to Atley Road and also heading east, beneath Littles Road and along the foot of Coronet Peak. The trail continues along the banks of Mill Creek to join the existing Queenstown Trail in Millbrook Resort.
Not only will this trail bring economic benefit to the region post Covid-19, but will be an incredible recreational asset for locals, connecting to the Coronet Peak MTB trails and the wider Queenstown Trail Network. This trail will also provide opportunities for active transport to residents of Arthurs Point and Arrowtown, and allow students a safe, off-road route to school.

STEP 3.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR SUBMISSIONS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
The submission must be dated, signed by you and must include the following information:
a) Your name and postal address and phone number/fax number.
b) Details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission including location (This is already pre-populated in the word doc HERE)
c) Whether you support or oppose the application.
d) Your submission, with reasons.
e) The decision you wish the consent authority to make.
f) Whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission
