Gantley's Tavern
Gantley’s Tavern is the home of Queenstown’s hospitality history. Built in 1863, we are 5-minutes from town,
offering 20 craft beers on tap, local wines/spirits, and a mouthwatering menu - “pub fare with flair”.
With our spacious, beautiful beer garden, Gantley’s Tavern is the perfect spot for “Après Bike”. We have plenty of lawn games to play and beanbags to lounge in the sunshine!
Gantley’s Tavern is housed in an authentic stone building originally run by Patrick Gantley who provided food, drink and lodgings to miners searching for gold in the mid 1800s. We recently celebrated the 150-year anniversary of the pub’s official opening on June 12, 1874 as the Pack Horse Hotel. It was then converted to P. Gantley's Sportsman's Arms Hotel in 1885 when Patrick Gantley added more bedrooms, a parlor, and started organizing sporting events on the adjoining flat land.
Gantley’s summer menu features fresh, vibrant, seasonally-inspired dishes perfectly paired with Central Otago beer, wines and spirits. We also have 20 local craft beers on tap.
We are open every day from 9.00am serving Higher Ground coffees, baked goods and breakfast followed by our all-day lunch and dinner menu until late.
