The iconic Motatapu returns on 1st March 2025 with five event options:
- 47km Mondraker Mountain Bike
- 42km Allpress Espresso Trail Marathon
- 15km UDC Finance Miners Trail
- 52km Ultra Run
- 4km Jennian Homes Junior Trail Run
It’s a bucket-list off-road event with challenging yet achievable courses, which attracts close to 4000 participants a year. The Motatapu is a hugely enjoyable and social event, famous for its relaxed southern vibe and huge comradery. Queenstown Trails is the Official Charity of the Motatapu, this means when you enter a percentage of your entry fee goes to the Queenstown Trails Trust. You also have the ability to further support the Queenstown Trails Trust by donating when prompted through the event online registration system.
Funds raised from the Motatapu goes directly back into trail network, enabling us to maintain and expand our trails into the future. We would like to thank the event organisers and all of the competitors for their support of the trail network.
